A three-car crash occurred on Sandwich Road Wednesday morning, August 7.

Bourne police said the crash happened around 10:30 AM between Gallo Ice Arena and the Midway Recreation Rest Area.

Bourne Police Lieutenant Jonathan R. MacDougall said there were three vehicles involved in the crash—a white 2010 Toyota Yaris, a black 2013 Jeep Wrangler and a red 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Lt. MacDougall said that all three vehicles were headed in the direction of the Bourne Bridge. The Jeep Wrangler was in front, followed by the Jeep Cherokee, then the Toyota Yaris, he said.

The drivers of the Wrangler and the Cherokee both slowed for traffic, but not the driver of the Toyota, Lt. MacDougall said. The Yaris collided with the rear of the Cherokee, causing it to rear-end the Wrangler, he said.

Lt. MacDougall said there were no reported injuries. The driver of the Toyota was identified as Rebekah Gilmour, 38, from Mashpee. Ms. Gilmour was cited for following too closely, he said.
