A tractor trailer crash caused a temporary shutdown of Scenic Highway on Monday, December 2.

Bourne Police Sergeant John R. Stowe, Jr., said that at 12:20 PM officers responded to a call about a tractor trailer that had collided with a car. The collision happened about a quarter of a mile from the intersection with Nightingale Pond Road, with both vehicles headed towards Buzzards Bay, Sgt. Stowe said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Massachusetts State Police, Sgt. Stowe said. He said that the driver of the car was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The crash caused both sides of the highway to be shut down “for about a minute,” Sgt. Stowe said. Traffic was then reopened to one lane in each direction, he said.

No word on which driver was responsible for the crash, or if any charges will be brought.
