A Bourne police officer was injured June 27 in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Barlows Landing Road and County Road.

The crash happened shortly after 7 PM. Bourne Police Lieutenant Jonathan R. MacDougall said the officer was on Barlows Landing Road traveling in the direction of Barlows Landing Beach. He was in the intersection when his cruiser was hit.

Lt. MacDougall said the driver of a black 2017 Ford F150 pickup truck went through a red light and crashed into the front driver-side quarter panel of the cruiser.

The driver of the truck was identified as Nicholas Terlino, 19, of Sandwich. Lt. MacDougall said it was determined that Mr. Terlino was driving under the influence of marijuana.

Bourne Deputy Fire Chief Paul Weeks said that firefighters transported the injured officer to Falmouth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Deputy Chief Weeks said there were three people in the truck at the time of the crash. One person was taken by ambulance to Tobey Hospital, also with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lt. MacDougall said Mr. Terlino has been charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, failure to stop for a red light, and operating a motor vehicle to endanger. Records show he was arraigned in Falmouth District Court Friday, June 28. He was released on personal recognizance and has a pretrial hearing scheduled for Thursday, August 29.
