No charges have been brought against either of the drivers involved in a two-vehicle collision that resulted in the Sagamore Bridge being shut down Thursday night, May 30. The bridge was closed to traffic in both directions due to the crash, according to state police.

State police reported that a 2001 Jeep Cherokee collided with a 2002 Ford Excursion that was towing a boat on a trailer. The trailer the boat was on jackknifed and wound up blocking traffic, state police reported.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, state police said.

The crash happened shortly after 6 PM in the midst of the evening commute. All traffic was redirected over to the Bourne Bridge. The scene was cleared and the bridge reopened to traffic around 8 PM.

State police said that no one was hurt in the crash, and no charges or citations have been brought against either driver at this time.
