One person was flown by helicopter to a Boston hospital following a two-car crash on Scenic Highway.

The crash happened around 9 AM January 23.

Bourne Deputy Fire Chief Joseph J. Carrara Jr. said the crash happened on the westbound side of Scenic Highway, in the vicinity of Brigantine Passage.

Two cars were involved, Deputy Chief Carrara said. One vehicle was a Hyundai sedan, driven by a woman from Bourne in her 60s.

Deputy Chief Carrara said firefighters had to use mechanical devices to remove her from the car. He described her injuries as serious.

She was taken by Bourne firefighters to the field at the Hoxie School in Sagamore Beach and loaded onto a medical helicopter to be taken to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.

The other car was a Cadillac, he said, driven by a woman in her 20s to 30s. She was transported by ambulance to Tobey Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Deputy Chief Carrara said her injuries were also serious, but not as serious as the other victim’s.

There were no passengers in either car, Deputy Chief Carrara said.
