Barbara Katherine Baker, 100, of Bourne died December 22 at Heritage at Falmouth.

The daughter of Theodore F. and Katherine B. (Bitzer) Lenz, she was born in Boston and grew up in West Roxbury. She graduated from Roslindale High School in 1940.

She married Alden Ames Baker in 1942 and they built their home and raised their family in Buzzards Bay. They had been married for 70 years at the time of her husband’s death in 2012.

Ms. Baker worked as the manager of Buzzards Bay Jewelry store for 23 years.

She was a past member of the Bourne Junior Women’s Club and Bourne United Methodist Church.

She leaves her daughter, Carol Johnson of Monument Beach; two grandsons, David Clark of Dagsoboro, Delaware, and Matthew Johnson of Wakefield; four great-grandchildren; and extended family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Katherine Clark, who died in 1973.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 29, beginning at 9 AM with a funeral service at 11 o’clock, at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Boulevard in Bourne.

Burial will follow at Oakland Grove Cemetery in Bourne.
