David Charles Keating, 85, of Bourne died September 26.

He was born in Boston and grew up in Jamaica Plain. He had lived in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston; Waterville Valley, New Hampshire; and Stuart, Florida; as well in as Bourne.

Mr. Keating’s outgoing and charismatic personality contributed to his success as a real estate developer.

He had a love of golf.

He leaves four children, David C. Keating Jr. and his wife, Rikki Keating, of Manhattan Beach, California, Patricia Kinnealey and her husband, Bill Kinnealey, of Weston, Carline Soutter and her husband, Sam Soutter, of Charleston, South Carolina, and John Keating and his wife, Jodi Keating, of Hopkinton; 10 grandchildren; his younger sister, Janet Gardner of Monument Beach; and extended family.

Mr. Keating was preceded in death by his partner of more than 35 years, Donna Gibson.

Services will be private.
