Eleanor Lawrence (Raleigh) Trevains of Bourne died on April 12 at Royal Cape Cod Nursing Home. She was 91.

She was the widow of Theodore V. Trevains, to whom she was married for 50 years.

Born and raised in Bourne, she was the daughter of Walter and Elsie (Perry) Raleigh and stepdaughter of Alice M. Raleigh. She was a descendant of the Perry and Raleigh families, which date back to 1630 on Cape Cod.

Ms. Trevains was graduated from Bourne High School in 1945 and Bridgewater State College in 1949.

She became a schoolteacher and taught at the Hoxie School in Sagamore for a total of 31 years.

She leaves two stepdaughters, Rita T. Mitchell and Karen Trevains; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Bradford S. Raleigh, who died in 2017.

Burial will be private.
