Elsie Lillian Hayden died July 14 at her home in Falmouth. She was 92.
She was the mother of Joyce Botti of Pocasset.
Ms. Hayden was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Harry and Lillian Parsloe. She had three siblings, all of whom predeceased her.
She graduated from Brooklyn High School of Homemaking in 1946.
She worked as an operator for the New York Telephone Company.
In 1947 she married Frank Hayden, who was an installer for Western Electric, a sister company to New York Telephone. They moved from the city to the suburbs of Long Island, where they bought their first home.
Ms. Hayden worked for the Long Island National Bank, where she supervised the loan processing department. Later she joined her husband at the Grumman Corporation, where she was a logistics administrator.
She and her husband retired in 1988 and moved to Southampton, New Jersey.
In retirement, Ms. Hayden and her husband traveled to Europe and Asia. They were among the first Americans to visit mainland China.
Mr. Hayden died in 1994.
Ms. Hayden was a volunteer for Helping Other People Evolve, a grief support agency, and the Burlington County Library. She also attended and volunteered at the Holy Eucharist Roman Catholic Church.
In addition to her daughter, she leaves two sons, Ronald of Ninety Six, South Carolina, and Bruce of Southport, North Carolina. She also leaves 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
