Jane F. Thompson, 93, of Pocasset died August 19.

She was the eldest of four children born to Art and Jo Farrar in Bristol, Connecticut, and was a former resident of Dover and Medfield.

Known as the family historian, Ms. Thompson was able to identify relatives and friends from long ago. Her many nieces, nephews and extended family members frequently arrived with family trivia questions and old photographs that needed identification and departed with their questions resolved and stories attached.

Ms. Thompson had maintained friendships formed in her childhood.

She leaves eight children, Sharon Coryell, Billy Thompson, Colleen Thompson, Patty Barksdale, Tommy Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, Barb Dery and Sheila Thompson; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Art Farrar.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Ray Farrar and Donald Farrar.

Graveside services will be in Bristol, Connecticut, where she will be interred alongside her parents.
