Lorraine Claire Jolliffe, 93, of Buzzards Bay died August 29 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.

She was the daughter of Edward and Esther (Dawson) Baker.

After she was graduated from Lexington High School in 1945, she went to business school and got her degree from Bryant and Stratton College. She then worked for General Motors Acceptance Corporation as a clerk.

She married William E. Hurley and they had two children, Michael and Elizabeth Hurley, before he died in 1954 after a brief heart condition.

She then married Charles E. Jolliffe in 1963 and the couple had two children, Lori and Lynn Jolliffe. Mr. Jolliffe died in 2000.

Ms. Jolliffe enjoyed walks on the beach, water-skiing, skiing, gardening, sewing and working in her yard. For many years she fostered infants.

She leaves her children, Michael W. Hurley of Norfolk, Elizabeth M. Hurley of Ashland, Lori C. Fulp of Buzzards Bay and Lynn E. Lee of Fairhaven; two stepsons; Charles E. Jolliffe Jr. of Islesboro, Maine, and Lawrence Jolliffe of Palm Harbor, Florida; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and extended family.

A memorial service in celebration of her life will be at a later date.
