Lorraine F. Kerrigan, 87, of Buzzards Bay died May 3.
She was the widow of James J. Kerrigan Sr. They were married for 64 years.
Ms. Kerrigan was born and raised in Lowell, the daughter of Catherine (Walsh) Lord and Raymond J. Lord Sr. Her father was the former mayor of Lowell and a state representative.
She attended Notre Dame de Lourdes School and graduated from Keith Hall, a girls’ high school, in 1951.
She worked for Lowell Electric Light Corporation.
After raising their family in Chelmsford, upon retirement she and her husband moved to Cape Cod and later to Venice, Florida. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford, Corpus Christi Church in East Sandwich, and Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Venice.
Among the pastimes she enjoyed were traveling, going to the movies and reading; Ms. Kerrigan also took pride in her French Canadian and Irish heritage.
She leaves four children, Katherine Judge of Sandwich, James Kerrigan Jr. of Plymouth, Kenneth Kerrigan Sr. of Fairfax, Virginia, and Mark Kerrigan of Hyannis; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and extended family.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond J. Lord Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated yesterday at St. Mary Parish in Chelmsford.
