Marie Catherine (LaFreniere) Billard, 93, died last Friday, December 3, at Royal Cape Cod Nursing Home in Buzzards Bay. She was the wife of Charles Bruce Billard Sr., who predeceased her in 1994.

Known for her loving demeanor, hearty laugh, kindness and positive outlook, she dedicated her life to her family and loved singing in the Cranberry Shores Chorus for many years. She was also a longtime member of St. Peter's Church-on-the-Canal in Buzzards Bay.

The daughter of Joseph and Catherine LaFreniere, she grew up in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. She graduated from Jamaica Plain High School in 1946 before getting married at St. Peter's in 1950 and moving to Buzzards Bay.

She leaves her children, Joan Billard of Sandwich; Anne Busby and her husband, Dan, of Sterling; Charles Billard Jr. of Falmouth; Jeff Billard of Falmouth; Rob Billard of Duxbury; and Ken Billard and his wife, Pam, of Norwell.

Her grandchildren include Thom Busby and his wife, Alycia; Catherine Busby and her fiancé, Drew Hart; Adam and Charlie Billard; Kayla, Ryan and Nathan Billard; Sarah and Julia Billard; Delia and Chad Roth; Emily Gluck; and James and Garrett Watterson.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, December 9, from 4 to 7 PM at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home at 40 MacArthur Boulevard in Bourne. Her funeral will be at 10 AM on Friday at St. Peter's Church at 165 Main Street in Buzzards Bay. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oakland Grove Cemetery on Shore Road in Bourne.
