Richard Francis Patton, 85, of Monument Beach died on July 13.

He was the husband of Kathleen (McNaught) Patton for 61 years. The couple married in 1960 in Cambridge.

Born in Cambridge, he was the son of William James and Mary Frances (Gorman) Patton.

Mr. Patton was self-employed and worked in the food industry for many years. He was a champion skeet shooter and a member of the Falmouth Skeet Club for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor sports.

A veteran of the US Army, he served in the Massachusetts National Guard and Air Force Reserve.

Besides his wife, he leaves his sons, Gary Patton and his wife, Scarlett Patton, Richard Patton Jr., Wiliam Patton and his partner, Yvette Brailey, and David Patton and his wife, Debra Patton. He also leaves nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service took place on Wednesday, July 21, at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home in Bourne. Burial followed at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
