Robert Crowley

Robert Joseph Crowley, 81, of Sagamore Beach died April 19 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.

He was the husband of Catherine (Feeney) Crowley, to whom he was married for 55 years.

Born in Boston, he was the son of Robert and Mary (Connlly) Crowley.

Mr. Crowley was a veteran of the US Navy.

He enjoyed traveling. In his earlier years he took his family camping, using his trailer; and more recently he and his wife visited international countries.

Fortunate to be retired when his first grandchild was born, he became the boy's babysitter. A few years later when his granddaughter arrived, he took care of both of them when their parents worked. He was known as the Park Grandfather by all the mothers and children he encountered while "on duty."

In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Timothy Crowley and Robert Crowley, and two grandchildren, Colin Crowley and Breanna Crowley, all of Sagamore Beach; and other family.

Visiting hours will be Friday, April 26, from 3 to 7 PM at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Boulevard in Bourne.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 27, from 10 to 11 AM at St. Margaret’s Church, 141 Main Street in Buzzards Bay.

Burial will follow at Oakland Grove Cemetery in Bourne.
