Sally J. Yourkewicz, 90, of Pocasset died October 23 at Falmouth Hospital following a long illness.

She was the wife of Albert W. Yourkewicz. They had shared 47 years of marriage at the time of his death in 2001.

She was born and raised in Randolph, the daughter of Martin and Lucille (Sillitoe) Young. She attended Thayer Academy in Braintree, and later went on to receive her associate's degree from Centenary College in New Jersey.

Ms. Yourkewicz worked for several years at Randolph High School as an executive assistant to the head of the technology department.

She and her husband had spent summers in Pocasset since 1963, becoming year-round residents in 1987.

She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed participating in the game with friends. Ms. Yourkewicz also enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her garden and golfing; her name was mentioned several times in 1990s Enterprise archival news of the fairways as a player of note in tournaments of the Women's Golf Association of Little Harbor Country Club in Wareham.

She leaves three daughters, Susan Willis of Framingham, Nancy L. Rogers of East Falmouth and Lisa V. Yourkewicz of Mashpee; four grandchildren, Samuel Willis of Framingham, Sarah Consolo of South Portland, Maine, Ava Vernooy of Sudbury and Anton Vernooy of Hudson; two great-grandsons, Christopher Willis of Braintree and William Consolo of South Portland, Maine; and other family.

She was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Eddy Young and Dorothy Barmakian.

Visiting hours will be Friday, November 6, from 10 AM to noon at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Avenue in Mashpee.

A private graveside service will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
