When I attend a public event, stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance words, “...to the republic for which it stands” I am pledging my loyalty to all Americans regardless of party affiliation.

Our republic is not just a piece of paper we call the Constitution. We, who live here, are the republic.

I stand with all Americans to unite in action and take selfless measures to preserve and protect all of us who live in this beautiful country against this common threat, coronavirus. The lyrics of an old song say it all: “United we stand, divided we fall.”
