In Bourne’s Selectmen’s race this year are five candidates.

Four who have lived, worked and served the Town of Bourne in some capacity. Three have been involved in making long-term financial decisions for Bourne residents as selectmen or Finance Committee members. Did these officials support or oppose the permitting of the site for a marijuana shop? Did these three think that legalization would improve our town, or was it the money they were looking for rather than the health and welfare of the town?

Jane Dumas Otis runs for selectman with many years of service as a selectman and FinCom member in Dennis. She comes with open and observant eyes. Jane supports the Constitution, her faith, her own decisions. She makes her decisions with transparency and after asking hard questions and digging for answers.

Jane’s eyes are trained by being a sibling, a mother, a hospice nurse, a Lion and surely as a public servant.

Jane has your interests at heart. What does Bourne really need?

Do the taxes and fees and property values need to go up yet again? Every year for the past 20 years...all of these have risen!

Are homeowners pleased with this? It shouldn’t be that way. Over-budgeting means going back to the drawing board and reorganizing or cutting.

May I ask that you support Jane Dumas Otis on May 18.
