As a member of the Capital Outlay Committee and the Firehouse Committee for the town of Bourne, I was shocked to read about the tirade by Selectman James Potter with no possibility of a defense by Mary Jane Mastrangelo at a Bourne selectmen’s meeting. I am well assured that she knows the rules and regulations of committees better than most members. She is also more than qualified, and the town of Bourne should be grateful for her wealth of knowledge and financial expertise as well as devotion in her service to our community. This appeared to me to be grandstanding in fear and intimidation, something most of us are so tired of hearing. If Mr. Potter wants to retain his position he should try putting forth new and bold ideas to win over the voters and address any complaints in a proper forum. That is what the voters desire to hear!
