As a former advertiser (paid) of opposition to and the health effects from marijuana sales, distribution and use in Bourne, and recent renewer of my subscription to the Bourne Enterprise, I would raise the following points:

The two complete pages of print devoted to opinion/viewpoints in the Friday, August 30, edition are nearly exclusively and intentionally devoted to left-leaning talking points via The New York Times and a story by Karen B. Hunter. The lone commentary by a local opinion consumer/writer, Mr. Sullivan, is also devoted to bashing the affluent, and he, Mr. Sullivan, has obviously subscribed to the theory of “enoughness” with what seems to be a backup in environmental destruction theology.

The once-upon-a-time, rather impressively balanced opinion pages under Mr. Paradise have undergone what appears to be a substantial and undesirable lurch to the leftist drone of whatever emanates from The New York Times and that is, after all, an easy and reliable leftist reprint that has no local flavor whatsoever.

As a subscriber and perhaps quite temporary consumer of editorial comment, I would hope that the balanced commentary will return, even though Mr. Paradise remains as the Sandwich editor. I do not pay $64 a year, including delivery tip, to read New York Times theology.
