Haley McCarthy — December 23, 2019

Bourne.

It didn’t take long for Haley McCarthy to make a big impact on the Bourne girls’ basketball team.

The freshman guard poured in a game-high 20 points and sparked a second-half comeback effort to guide the Canalmen to a 45-36 non-conference road win against Westport on Monday, December 23.

McCarthy saved her best for the final frame, scoring 12 of her 20 points over the last eight minutes. During the fourth quarter, the Canalmen went on a 14-2 run and outscored the Wildcats overall in the quarter, 22-9, to complete the comeback and get the win.

She has played big-time minutes, typically starting, in all four games for Bourne this season.
