The Bourne High School football team dropped a heart-breaker to Seekonk on the road last Friday night, April 9. Bourne rallied back from a two touchdown deficit to close the gap to just two points, but ultimately dropped a 28-19 decision to the Warriors.
Behind strong games from Joe Carrara, Alex Duvall and Shawn McDonough, Bourne fought from down 21-6 to close the gap to 21-19 in the fourth quarter after a touchdown from Carrara. Seekonk answered back with a game-clinching TD pass from Jared Moran to Greg Desmaris to put the game away. Moran found Desmaris on the left side and the receiver put on a hard move to get to open space and went about 30 yards to the house for the game-sealing score
Coach John McIntyre said that his team’s defense gave a strong all-around effort as they were able to keep things close and give the offense the opportunity to get back into the game. The squad’s offensive line also had a strong outing for the Canalmen.
Bourne hits the road for a game at Old Rochester Regional Friday, April 16. The game will kick off at 6 PM. Two spectators per visiting player are allowed at the game.
