The Bourne golf team picked up its 10th win of the season after a bit of lay-off on Wednesday, October 18.
Visiting Somerset Berkley at Swansea Country Club, the Canalmen just edged out their South Coast Conference Large Division counterpart, 121-119.
Bourne was led by Jared Baptist’s 24 points and Nick Petrillo’s 23 points, though they were both beat out by the Blue Raiders’ top two players—Tabor Fogg’s 27 points and Shan Mello’s 25 points.
The Canalmen made the difference in the next three players. Ben Halunen’s 22 points bested S-B’s Evan Affonso (20 points) while Kam Sassone’s 21 points easily surpassed Cam Mello (18 points). Brenden Anderson (17 points) also won his head-to-head battle with the Raiders’ Paul Simons (15 points). Head coach Rod Weston said he proved to be the difference in the match.
Mya Murphy (14 points) tied with Bridget Alves to round out the Canalmen scorecard.
Bourne (10-5) set its sights on the SCC tournament, Friday, October 18, at Bay Pointe Country Club that was postponed from last Friday.
