The Upper Cape Tech volleyball squad picked up a close victory against Cape Cod Tech on Tuesday, September 17. After winning the first two games the Lady Rams were defeated in the next two, setting up a decisive fifth game.

The fifth game was just as close as the previous four. Upper Cape prevailed by two points in that one, winning the match 25-20, 25-18, 18-25, 22-25, 17-15. UCT improved to 3-2 overall on the season, and 2-0 in league play.

Upper Cape’s defense was strong throughout the match, led by Nicaeyla Pires and Zoe Jackson-Laro. The defense did an excellent job coming up with digs and forcing turnovers.

Sarah Vieira and Bethany Davis passed the ball well in the victory for the Rams. The duo completed the most assists throughout the match. Taylor Richards scored 16 service points at the service stripe for the Rams, leading the team. Nicaeyla Pires right behind with 15.

Richards also had 16 hits and three kills. Zoe Janicki totaled 12 hits and four tips.
