Think you have what it takes to relive your glory days on the hardwood? Test your basketball skills in the third annual Jason Comoletti Scholarship Tournament.
Hosted at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, the three-on-three style tournament will take place on Sunday, June 23, at 9 AM, with registration beginning at 8 AM.
The three-man teams will compete in a round-robin style pool format and are guaranteed three games before the top two teams from each pool advance to the knockout round. There will be a competitive division for ages 15 and older, and a children’s division for ages 10 through 14.
Last year’s tournament took place in July for the first time at MMA. The year before, the first year the tournament took place, the competition was held at outdoor court of the Bourne Veterans Memorial Community Center—now named after Comoletti. He was a standout basketball player for the Rams and a graduate of Upper Cape Tech before his death on June 14, 2017.
The cost to participate is $35 per team, and all proceeds go to the Jason Comoletti Memorial Scholarship Fund, which benefits three UCT students who are in the plumbing and heating program, or are student-athletes who have excelled in their sport or shop.
Registration at jcomolettischolarship.com is open until June 14.
There will be raffle prizes available at the event, including a signed football from New England Patriots safety Devin McCourty, as well as a Boston Bruins team-signed Winter Classic photo.
