Andrew Brightman 092719

Bourne.

It’s helpful when your best receiver also plays on the defensive side of the ball. Just ask the UCT football team.

When the Rams were leading by four points, 24-20, with a minute to go in their home game against South Shore Voc-Tech on Saturday, September 28,UCT was thankful for senior Andrew Brightman playing on both sides of the ball.

Blessed with sure hands and a nose for the ball, Brightman jumped in front of a deep Vikings pass and returned the interception all the way to the end zone to hand the Rams a 31-20 win.

The Vikings had moved the ball from out around their own goal line and were facing a 4th-and-11 from their own 30 when Brightman picked off the desperate deep ball at the 45-yard line and stiff-armed would-be tacklers en route to the score with less than a minute to play.
