The Upper Cape Tech girls’ soccer team led for most of the game, but visiting Tri-County was able to scratch and claw its way back into the game to salvage a 2-2 tie.
Hosting the Cougars on Monday, September 30,UCT took a 1-0 lead on a goal from sophomore Meghan Keefe on an assist from senior captain Noelle Tavares. Later in the game senior Taylor Charlton scored the Rams’ second goal of the afternoon on a terrific individual effort, according to head coach Paul Ahern.
But with seven minutes remaining in the game, Tri-County managed to knot the score at two apiece. The two teams wrapped up their home-and-home series with neither team winning a game. On September 23, the two teams played to a scoreless draw before tying in Bourne this week.

The Rams earned the regular season sweep against their closest divisional rival last Friday, September 27.
Visiting Rochester in the back end of a home-and-home series with the Cougars, UCT picked up the one-goal victory, thanks to a terrific individual effort.
Sophomore Paige Bourgault scored on a powerful 30-yard unassisted shot that blazed by the Cougars’ goalkeeper to break a scoreless tie, according to head coach Paul Ahern. He went on to add it was a gritty, injury-filled game.
