For a half the Bourne High School boys’ basketball team was able to keep things close against Greater New Bedford Vocational Tech. Then things got away in the second half.

BHS was hanging tough for a half, but then, “VT got the game in transition and ‘Katie, bar the door,’” head coach Scott Ashworth said.

The run-and-gun Bears won the game by an 80-46 final score. At halftime the Canalmen trailed by just five points, 27-22.

Shea Ullo led the scoring for the Canalmen. The junior finished the game with 18 points.

BHS was scheduled to play its second game of the season on Thursday night, December 14, but the game against Diman Voke was postponed. Game 2 will now be held on December 21, at 6:30 PM at BHS. Bourne will take on Case High School in their second game of the season.
