Bourne High School’s volleyball team has rebounded nicely after a three-match losing streak and picked up its third straight win on Monday, dominating a match against rival Wareham on the road. BHS is now 13-5 overall on the season with two scheduled matches left to play. The next match is to be held on the road on Friday, October 29, at Duxbury High School.

The Canalmen are in good shape in terms of their postseason credentials. The team was most recently ranked fifth in the MIAA’s most recent power rating released this week and is in position to host at least two rounds in the state tournament.

Coach Dave Moore’s team defeated Wareham by scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-4 on Monday night. He called it “another team win” as several players were able to contribute to the final outcome.

Gianna Lowden had a big game at outside hitter. The senior had five aces in the match. Senior co-captain Emma Undzis notched eight kills for the match. Grace Russell, at middle hitter, landed three kills. Mary Berio-Rowlands, a junior setter, picked up four service aces.

Delaney Jansen had a strong game at libero on the defensive side. Berio-Rowland and Mia DiPaolo also were excellent on defense for the Lady Canalmen.
