The Cape Cod Theatre Project, a professional theatre lab, brings together award-winning playwrights and actors, often straight from Broadway, to Cape Cod for staged readings of new American plays.

Playwright Anna Ziegler presents The Great Moment, a funny, poignant and poetic meditation on beginnings and endings, birth and age, and the moments of transition that mark our journey from life to death.

As Sarah’s precocious son Evan is at the beginning of his life, her grandfather is nearing the end of his, and she is…well she is somewhere in the middle, trying to find herself in the thicket of time we call life. If only we could hit pause for a moment. This is an intensely personal play by award-winning playwright Anna Ziegler.

Plays by Anna Ziegler include the widely produced Photograph 51 which was directed on the West End by Michael Grandage, starring Nicole Kidman, and developed at CCTP in 2009. The Last Match (Old Globe Theatre; Roundabout Theatre) and Actually (Geffen Playhouse; Williamstown Theatre Festival; Manhattan Theatre Club). Anna Ziegler: Plays One is published by Oberon Books. Anna is currently developing a television show for HBO and a screenplay for Scott Free Productions. The Great Moment will have its world premiere at Seattle Rep in the fall of 2019.

Plays fostered with the Cape Cod Theatre Project have achieved great success with over 50 plays produced on Broadway, Off-Broadway and at regional theaters around the world. Experience these dynamic works before they move on to major stages around the country.

Celebrating its 25th season this summer, the Cape Cod Theatre Project will feature four new American plays covering a range of subject matter and genres including a comedy, thriller, reflections of a personal journey, and stories of twentieth-century American optimism.

Meet  playwright Anna Ziegler on Monday, July 22 at 10 AM at Highfield Hall in Falmouth for a StageTalk to learn about the playwright's and director's journey and the tips and techniques they have used to produce wonderful plays.
