This past year we lost an esteemed member of the glass community, Edward D. Poore. in celebration of his life and talent, the Sandwich Glass Museum is pleased to present A Cut Above - A Tribute to Edward Poore, a special exhibit highlighting the work of this talented individual.  Ed Poore was a gifted glass cutter, who began is career at the Pairpoint Glass Works in Sagamore, Massachusetts.  He learned the centuries old technique of glass cutting and engraving under the tutelage of Carl Scheidenback.  After ten years he started his own studio, The Crystal Workshop, in Sagamore.  He was fascinated with paperweights, which turned into a career specializing in the restortion of antique and conteporary paperweights.  Additionally, he created cut glass sculptures of his own design, as well as new engraving patterns.

This exhibit is featured in the Museum's Special Exhibition Gallery, will open July 1 and close October 27,2019.
