L. Barry Evans of North Falmouth died on Saturday, August 17. He was 83.

Mr. Evans was born in Springside, Saskatchewan, the son of F. Stanley and Lillian Evans. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a master radar control flight operator in the Air Defense Command.

He moved to the Cape where he was a past treasurer of the Cape Cod Curling Club, and for more than 10 years, served as both treasurer and assistant treasurer of the Samaritans of Cape Cod and the Islands.

Mr. Evans was the husband of Eleanor Maurer Evans, to whom he was married for 46 years.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a brother, Evan W. Evans and his wife, Deanie, of British Columbia, Canada; a daughter, Kimberly Bjornsson of Manitoba, Canada; and three grandchildren Connor, Seth and Joel Bjornsson; and nieces and nephews; and other family.

He was predeceased by brothers Keith Evans and Frederick Evans.

Visiting hours will be from 7:30 to 9:30 AM today at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Highway (Route 28A).

A funeral Mass will follow at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 481 Quaker Road, North Falmouth.

Burial will be in the North Falmouth Cemetery, Old Main Road, North Falmouth.
