Falmouth Station on Depot Avenue

Falmouth Economic Development and Industrial Corporation member Michael B. Galasso asked what it would take to connect Falmouth Station to the OpenCape internet network at the board’s meeting on Tuesday, October 13.

“We talk about creating hot spots, and we have a great opportunity to do that right there,” Mr. Galasso said. “We got a parking lot that is hardly used, and we have a building that is not fully utilized. What could we do to get OpenCape there?”

EDIC director Michael DiGiano said he is working with the OpenCape Corporation.

“We did have a couple of site meetings out there,” Mr. DiGiano said. He said OpenCape engineers will review the project further and determine how to make the connection, as well as its cost. Committee member Christopher R. Simmler asked him to bring the quote back to the board.

Describing the internet connection as “a priority,” Mr. Simmler said, “Mike is right. We should have OpenCape there, at a minimum.”
