The total number of COVID-19 cases in Falmouth has increased to nine as of Thursday morning, March 26.

The Falmouth Health Department said that anyone who has had known contact with any of the confirmed patients has been notified and that all protocols regarding quarantine and isolation are being followed.

The health department advised that as more testing is being done, more number of confirmed cases will increase.

"We must assume that there is community spread occurring and will continue to occur as the test positive cases do not include the asymptomatic or mildly ill individuals," the department said in a press release.

Residents are advised that they can help slow the spread of the virus by practicing social distancing and good hygiene.
