A Falmouth man who had been under investigation by federal and local law enforcement agencies was arrested Wednesday, September 1, for trafficking fentanyl and other drug charges.

Ronald Renaud, 43, was arrested outside his Wheelhouse Circle home.

Officers were prepared to conduct a search warrant on Mr. Renaud’s residence when they intercepted him in the process of conducting a sale of what was believed to be fentanyl in a vehicle outside of the home, according to a statement released by the Falmouth Police Department.

Once Mr. Renaud was detained, officers executed the search warrant of his home. Seized were approximately 26 grams of fentanyl, $1,959 in cash, suspected steroids and Suboxone, along with packaging materials associated with the distribution of narcotics.

Mr. Renaud had been the subject of a joint investigation by Falmouth police in conjunction with the United States Drug Enforcement Agency and the Massachusetts State Police Cape Cod Drug Task Force.

He was charged with trafficking and distribution of fentanyl, possession of steroids, and conspiracy to violate substance abuse laws.
