A motor vehicle crashed into a utility pole Monday morning, October 19, causing power outages and the closure of Thomas B. Landers Road for about 11 hours.

Falmouth police arrived at the scene at 4:22 AM at 710 Thomas B. Landers Road, near Research Road, after a 2012 Chevy Cruze traveling east left the road and hit a utility pole, according to the police report.

The driver, Revanilton Ramos Devasconcelos, 25, of Falmouth, was transported by Falmouth Fire Rescue Department medics to Falmouth Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. He was later issued a criminal traffic citation for speeding, marked lanes violation, operating to endanger and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The car was towed from the scene.

The pole, which was sheared off at the base, caused outages affecting local residents and businesses, according to a police statement. Eversource crews arrived to make repairs while traffic was rerouted to Research Road and Technology Park Drive by the Falmouth Ice Arena. The road reopened at around 3 PM Monday.
