Fuller Field Concession Stand Fire

Fire officials are seeking information from the public about what started the fire.

The Falmouth police and fire departments are seeking information about a fire in the former concession stand at Fuller Field on Saturday night, October 17. Anyone with information can contact the Falmouth Police Department at 774-255-4527 or the Arson Reward Hotline at 800-682-9229. The Arson Watch Reward Program pays up to $5,000 for information that helps determine the cause.

“The fire is deemed suspicious and we are working with the police and the state Fire Marshal’s office,” Falmouth Acting Fire Chief Timothy Smith said. “We have some leads and are trying to establish a timeline. We are also looking at camera recordings.”

The town-owned building, located on Guv Fuller Field, was the concession stand for the Falmouth Commodores baseball team and had not been used since 2019. The fire was extinguished quickly but the structure and everything inside was considered to be a total loss, according to the statement from the fire department.

Firefighters arrived on scene just before 7 PM and found the shed to be fully engulfed in flames.
