Falmouth police officers broke up an underage drinking party after midnight Saturday, October 11, on Sailfish Drive. The 30 or so partygoers were not wearing masks or social distancing, Falmouth Police Lieutenant Douglas DeCosta said.

The 18- and 19-year-olds were from Plymouth public schools and various colleges. The school system was notified of the party and the lack of COVID-19 safety precautions, the lieutenant said in an email.

All the parents were contacted, and a portable breath test was used on some of the teens.

“All of the partygoers were allowed to leave if deemed sober or were picked up by a responsible adult,” Mr. DeCosta said. Officers stayed on scene for extended period of time due to rides coming from off-Cape.

The homeowners were not present at the time. John Kenny, 18, of Plymouth will be summoned to court for furnishing alcohol to a minor, police said.
