Falmouth police are looking for information about an attempted abduction of a 16-year-old girl that occurred Friday night, June 11.

At 10:36 PM, the girl was walking home from work along Shore Street when a black SUV began following her, according to Falmouth Police Lieutenant Douglas DeCosta.

The man in the vehicle pulled up next to the girl and asked her is she wanted a ride home. She declined and kept walking, the lieutenant said.

SHe told police that as she was walking along Clinton Avenue she heard a car door close, she turned around and the man attempted to pull her towards his SUV. She was able to break free and ran home.

Lieutenant DeCosta said the driver is a white man in his 40s or 50s, about six feet tall, overweight, has a deep voice, and short if not balding hair. He was wearing a black shirt and dark pants, the girl said.

The girl described the vehicle as a black SUV that makes a squeaking noise.

Anyone with information on the alleged incident, or who has a home or business surveillance video along Shore Street or Clinton Avenue around the time of the incident can contact the department at 774-255-4527.
