The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded the Town of Falmouth a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for Fiscal Year 2019.
The certificate honors the town’s 2019 comprehensive annual financial report, with the Government Finance Officers Association highlighting the report’s full disclosure and clear communication of the town’s financial story.
“My congratulations and thanks to Finance Director Jennifer Mullen and members of her finance staff for the continued exemplary work in this mission-critical area of continued financial transparency and accountability,” Town Manager Julian M. Suso wrote in an email announcing the certificate on Wednesday, October 14. “My thanks also to all Falmouth department heads who work diligently and collaboratively in managing their respective departmental budgets in facilitating the delivery of fundamental municipal services to all our residents and businesses who we are privileged to serve.”
The Government Finance Officers Association describes the certificate of achievement as “the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.”
Receipt of the award was announced on Wednesday, October 14.
