Firefighters were called to a fire at the Cape Codder Residences in Sippewissett—a large, multifamily condominium complex at 28 Cape Codder Road—at 6:56 AM on Friday, July 31.

Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke in the below-grade parking garage and detected fire at the rear of the building, Falmouth Fire Captain Chad E. Absten said, at which point a working fire assignment was declared.

When the fire was extinguished, which took just under 30 minutes, an extensive overhaul was conducted.

"There was no extension into the building. The fire was exterior only," Capt. Absten said.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
