Falmouth police arrested Christopher G. Magee, 56, of East Longmeadow for drug and motor vehicle charges following a traffic stop on Saturday, February 15. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute Class A drugs (fentanyl), possession of Class B drugs (crack cocaine), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, no inspection sticker and marked lanes violation.
Police responded to a report of an erratic driver on Main Street near the Village Green at approximately 10:30 PM Saturday night. While following the vehicle, the officer noticed the driver was leaning into the passenger seat to move bags around. The vehicle was swerving as if the operator was vigorously jerking the steering wheel rapidly side to side. He then made a sharp turn without using a signal, the police report says.
After police pulled him over, they found Mr. Magee’s speech was rapid and his eyes were bloodshot, leading the officer to believe he was on narcotics. After a search, the officer found what he reported to be crack pipes and crack cocaine in Mr. Magee’s pants pocket.
Mr. Magee told the officer, “These are not my pants.” Upon finding substances, Mr. Magee was placed under arrest. A vehicle search found 20 paper folds containing fentanyl, police said.
