Police have issued a warrant for the Mashpee man who was being pursued by police and fled the scene after crashing his vehicle Tuesday, September 17.
The action comes after an incident involving Falmouth and Mashpee police.
A Falmouth officer was dispatched to Raffi Avenue on Tuesday night after police received a a report of someone shooting at cars with a BB gun.
Alexander J. McGee, 28, was identified based on witness’ accounts.
Mashpee police spotted Mr. McGee driving a brown 2002 Toyota Sedan and tried to stop him but he continued driving into Falmouth, according to a police report.
Falmouth police were able to pull him over on Route 151 in Falmouth, but then he drove off again toward Mashpee, according to police.
Falmouth police pursued Mr. McGee onto Old Barnstable Road at 7:33 PM to the Mashpee town line. A Falmouth officer used “stop sticks” to deflate the car’s tire, and Mr. McGee eventually crashed into a guardrail in Mashpee, according to the report. Mr. McGee abandoned the car and ran from the scene. Police were not able to find him.
A search warrant was obtained, and police seized two BB guns and evidence from an arson.
Both Falmouth and Mashpee police are filing charges.
Mr. McGee will be charged with speeding, failing to stop for police, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene after property damage, a red light violation, no inspection sticker, a headlights violation and a marked lanes violation.
