The body of a woman found dead in Falmouth Harbor late Tuesday morning, May 18, has been identified as Sharee W. Daluze, a missing 34-year-old Yarmouth woman.
At 10:18 AM on Tuesday a fisherman reported finding a body in Falmouth Harbor near the intersection of Deacons and Vernon avenues in Falmouth Heights, Falmouth Police Chief Edward A. Dunne said.
Ms. Daluze was last seen walking in a parking lot near the Clam Shack, 227 Clinton Avenue, on Monday at about 10:30 PM, Falmouth Police Lieutenant Douglas DeCosta said. She was staying at a sober house on Locust Street in Falmouth, police said.
At 1:53 AM on Tuesday police found Ms. Daluze’s car in the Clam Shack parking lot after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle. The engine was running and the hazard lights and windshield wipers were on.
Officers, along with a Barnstable County Sheriff canine team, searched the area extensively. The Falmouth Fire Rescue Department Dive Team also assisted with the search.
The Falmouth Police Detective Bureau and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office of the Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the death, but authorities say they do not suspect foul play at this time.
