Falmouth Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a sinking boat in Waquoit Bay on Friday, August 30, Falmouth Fire Captain Chad E. Absten reported.

The call came in around 8:40 PM. Eight people were aboard the vessel, Capt. Absten said. There were no reported injuries, he added.

Falmouth Fire and Rescue deployed a marine boat and stationed an ambulance at Waquoit Bay landing. The Barnstable County Sheriff's Department, United States Coast Guard, and Falmouth Harbor Master were notified of the incident, Capt. Absten said.

The boat was found up against a jetty, which meant they were able to get the boat back to the dock, Capt. Absten said. He added that the vessel subsequently was towed to Little River Boat Yard in Mashpee.
