The Falmouth Police and Fire Rescue departments responded to the scene of Route 28 and Central Avenue at 2:05 AM Sunday, August 1, when a car collided with a residence, Deputy Fire Chief Chad E. Absten said.

The fire department arrived at 780 East Falmouth Highway to find that a car had driven into the home, Deputy Chief Absten said. The driver, a man in his 20s, was extricated from the vehicle and died from his injuries, the fire department said. 

The occupants of the residence were home at the time and were not injured. 

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
