A 76-year-old North Falmouth man was hit by a pickup truck while crossing Old Main Road on Wednesday, December 18

The Falmouth Police and Fire Rescue Department responded to the Old Main Road and Pine intersection in North Falmouth at 4:46 PM on Tuesday, after the pedestrian was struck by a car driven by a 64-year-old North Falmouth man.

"The 76-year-old man was treated for non-life threatening injuries by Falmouth Fire & Rescue medics, and then taken by ambulance to Falmouth Hospital," Falmouth Police Lieutenant Douglas M. DeCosta said.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with police during the investigation.

"An investigation revealed that the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk and in a dark section of the roadway at the time of the crash," Lt. DeCosta said. "As a result, a citation was not issued to the driver."
