The town sent emails to Town Meeting members with a Zoom link, Town Clerk Michael C. Palmer said. Any member of the public wishing to speak at one of the meetings should contact Mr. Palmer at email@example.com. He will inform the precinct captain to send the non-Town Meeting member a link to the meeting.
Mr. Palmer recommended to precinct captains to go over the articles for the April 12 Town Meeting and hold off conversations on those being heard at the Special Town Meeting in late June. The exact date in June not been set. The online meetings are limited to two hours.
“It’s really up to the captains if they want to discuss articles for June, but it will depend on whether there will be time for that,” he said.
On April 12, Falmouth Town Meeting Members should expect the following articles:
• A blanket vote conducted on the annual warrant to dispense with as many articles as the meeting deems appropriate,
• A motion from the chair for a consent calendar to “Postpone Indefinitely” articles 2, 17 through 36, and articles 38 through 40 (excluding any of those articles passed on the blanket vote).
• Proceeding with a virtual town meeting on articles 1, 3 through 16, and article 37 (excluding any of those articles passed on the blanket vote).
Upon the completion of #3 above, a vote will be taken to dissolve the Town Meeting. This is necessary in order for the town to be able to appoint the members of the finance committee and to spend funds appropriated at this meeting.
The select board will announce the date of the June special town meeting where Town Meeting will complete the business originally before the annual Town Meeting.
