A hydraulic fluid spill closed a lane of traffic at 473 Davisville Road for a few hours, Thursday afternoon, February 6, Falmouth Fire Captain Bruce D. Giroud said.

About 12:30 PM, between 40 and 50 gallons of hydraulic fluid leaked from a Republic Services trash truck, and the fire/rescue department was notified about an hour later, the captain said.

“We used our resources to absorb as much of the fluid as possible until an environmental systems cleaning company arrived,” he said, adding that the truck was towed from the scene.
