Arnold W. Miner, 80, of Woods Hole died June 14.

Born in Concord, New Hampshire, he was the son of Warren and Gertrude (Kimball) Miner.

After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the US Navy.

Following his military service, Mr. Miner worked for nine years at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. He assumed the duties of crane operator and held that position until his retirement in 2010.

He leaves a daughter, Stacey Santos and her husband, Antonio Santos; a son, James Miner and his wife, Megan Miner; and a granddaughter, Evelyn Grey Miner.
